Queens Enugu alumni (west Coast USA) held their 2010 inauguration of the chapter in Los Angeles on Saturday April 10 at the Radisson hotel by the LAX airport.
Chairman of the event: Dr. Iheanacho Emeruwa; event keynote speaker/honoree: Oby Nwankwo, retired chief magistrate in Anambra State. The other honorees: Lady Oyibo Odinamadu and Dr. Henrietta Ukwu.
The west coast chapter President is Princess Patricia Ndigwe, Lolo Ada Okoro is Vice President, Secretary is Angela Okwo, Financial Secretary is Ijeoma Ogbonnaya, Treasurer is Ndidi Anene, Publicity Secretary is Princess Calista Ezeokoye, Provost is Uche Onwuli while Inauguration coordinator is Ndidi Obi-Mbanugo.
Maryland-based alum Pat Nwogbo-Igbene swore in the local chapter members.
Earlier in the day, the event also witnessed the history-making election of interim national officers to lead the alum in the U.S.
Houston chapter former President Vivien Iweanya-Echetebu will serve as President, Atlanta chapter President Chinwe Bibiana Nwabude is the vice President, Dr. Patricia Ugwu (Houston chapter President) as secretary, Patricia Igbene as provost while Dallas' Thelma 'Adinije' Ugwu is PRO.
The versatile co-hosts of the event were Solo Egbuho and Ebere Agu.
Evidently, beyond the operational challenges which preceded the event, it was another remarkable outing and numerical expansion of the worthy alumni network of one of Nigeria's foremost schools established in Enugu for young women.
